shack

during one of my trips this summer i took some time to read. let me first say that i am not typically a reader and when i do it is not fiction. but, i did read a fiction book from cover to cover. this is one of the most amazing books that i have ever read. i dont want to spoil any part of it for you. so, you just need to read it for yourself. the book is the shack by william p young. this book takes you on a journey and really makes you think about God in a whole new light. this is the first book that i have read where i literally cried and laughed so hard that i had to put the book down. so just go and check it out and let me know what you think about it. all i have to say is that i know papa is very fond of me!

August 19th, 2008

ok so i know that it has been over a month since my last post. o the avid readers are getting angry with me. so here is the update. i am now married with 2 kids… JK! since my last post, i have been to washington, dc for a cufi conference and to san antonio, tx for general assembly. life is great. i have had the most busy summer ever in my life. i feel like i have been traveling all summer. dont get me wrong, i love that; it has just been really busy!

we are now in school mode at church. everything is starting to get a little more organized. we have several big events coming up (back 2 school bash and illuminate). these are going to be 2 amazing events.

so i have a crush… there is no real news other than that! i have a girl that i am very interested in and i am not sure where she stands on the issue yet. i know that i want to take her out and just see how it goes. i will keep all of you posted on the progress. i know that i take a huge risk in even saying that. so dont ask too many questions. i will let you know!

i am having a meeting this weekend to talk to some of my old high school buddies to talk about our 10 year class reunion. i know that i am old! so funny.

la wrap up & more

July 12th, 2008

so we finished up at the dream center. it was amazing. i got to see some people smoking crack, pot, and selling anything and everything on the street. there is so much hurt there. i know that God has a purpose and destiny for all of those people. i got to talk to one guy that moved to la in hopes of becoming an actor. he was a really sharp guy. i just thought that it was crazy that he would move to la, not knowing anyone on a hope that he would make it big. i guess you have to follow your dream no matter what!i am right now in benton, tn where i am getting ready to be in a wedding of this guy. he has been a long time friend. he and i were in voices of lee together and this guythis guy, and i were always roomies on the road. there are so many pic of the three of us all over the world! i am really excited for him getting married. i can honestly say that i never thought that he would have married before me! it is times like this that i really start thinking about a wife. i sit and wonder what is taking so long. i just want to know how she is. i already know that she is perfect. i know that God has designed her for me and that we are going to be the coolest couple ever!!!! well help me pray. i am ready to know what is going on! the best is yet to come…Subscribe to this blog if you like it and want more!!!

dream center

today i am in los angeles, ca at the dream center. i am on a short break before i head back out to one of the most hopeless places that i have ever been, skid row. earlier this morning we went around and told the people on the street that we are having lunch for them at 130. there were people dealing drugs, smoking crack, smoking weed, and drinking themselves to the ground. it is so sad to see these people. i cant wait to get back out there and let them know that there is hope for them. please pray for our team while we are out here. and if you ever have the chance to come out the the dream center and volunteer, you should do it. i will let you know how it goes. the best is yet to come…Subscribe to this blog if you like it and want more!!!

john bevere

johnpaulbevere.jpg

a week ago john bevere came to my church. he is talking about honor’s reward all over the country. i am in the middle of reading the book and doing the devotional book. it is really amazing to me just how easy it is to honor someone. there are so many people in my life that i wish i could honor so greatly.

in this book, john talks about the blessings that come out of honor and also the curses that come from dishonor. all i know is that i want to receive a “full” reward and not just a partial one. this is a good read and i recommend it to anyone.

las vegas

luxor.jpg
well i guess it is safe to say that i have gone from the holy land to sin city in one week. i am staying at the luxor hotel and casino. vegas is a strange place. everything is over the top. the people, the hotels, and literally everything is bigger than life. it is really easy to think that this is reality, but i think we all know that at some point we have to get on a plane and head back to “real life.” it is fun…. for a season! i will keep you posted on my winnings…. or losings! the best is yet to come…Subscribe to this blog if you like it and want more!!!

israel

May 28th, 2008

well… i am back from the holy land and it was amazing. this was my second time there. the first time that i went, it was with a tour group. that is the way that i recommend that everyone get their feet wet in israel. i was able to get a massive overview of what all is there and visit all of the “big” sites that everyone knows are there. this trip was a lot more involved. i was with 4 other people and we were able to do a lot more than you can do with a group of 30 or more. i actually got to stand next to the eastern gate. now i know that to some that seems like not that much, but in reality it is huge. i am talking about the gate that Jesus is going to make his triumphant entry back into jerusalem through. i touched it! that is crazy to me.the whole time that i was there it was surreal. i mean this is a place that you read about all of your life and you believe that it is a real place, but still it is a little bit like a fairy tale. when you are standing in a place that you know that Jesus himself was, it is quite an amazing feeling. when i am in the garden of gethsemane, i get the overwhelming feeling of what Christ had to be facing in those last few hours. then to be in the garden tomb and see the skull in the side of the hill and stand in the tomb where you read “he is not here, he is risen.” that is pretty darn amazing.here are a few of the pics that i took i am sure that i will post some more. enjoy. and when you get a chance to go…. DO IT. go and see. i promise you that it will be worth every dime that you pay. the best is yet to come…Subscribe to this blog if you like it and want more!!!7.jpg6.jpg5.jpg4.jpg3.jpg2.jpg1.jpg  and yes that is a goat getting slaughtered in the street!

well… i am sitting in the ben huron airport in tel aviv israel right now. i am sore from having to sit in the very middle of the plane between two older men. one was super worried about his meds and the other was a muslim man whose family has the keys to the church of the holy seplicure for over 1000 years. i flew stand by and my luggage did not make it. i am without toothbrush, deodarent, and underwear! i know that i am here for a reason so as soon as i know, i will let you know.

God is amazing

May 15th, 2008

last night we had a night to honor our graduates. it was really the first night that i have been able to produce completely. everything went off without a hitch. we had confetti cannons and all. it was really an exciting time for our grads and the whole church really!

so tonight at 10:00, i am going to be loading up on a plane and heading to israel. this is the 60th anniversary celebration and i cannot wait to get over there and see it all again. God is amazing… i know that there is always something special that happens when one is able to go over to the holyland. i cant wait to write about the amazing encounters with the living god that will take place over there. i will keep you up to date. please pray for me while i am there and pray for the peace of jerusalem.
